i totally love this portrait! a former colleague asked me if i could draw one for her husband's 40th birthday. as you probably already know i want every portrait to be special to the person who receives it – so i asked her about his passions, hobbies, special talents – turns out he loves to sing and he is a beekeeper. So i instantly had this idyllic picture of a singing beekeeper surrounded by bees and flowers in my head. I then also added his read vintage Puch motorcycle and a camera - et voilà!
Regarding the flowers she wished for wild flowers like those you very often see growing on meadows – perfect bee food. it came all together quite naturally. i hope they are both happy with this portrait!
